Glacier Bay, Inc., a company that is about as “out-of-the-box” as any can be is looking for new talent for our growing team. We invented the world’s first R-134a refrigeration system, developed the cooling system for the IBM super computers, designed and built some of the largest permanent magnet motors in the world and lots lots more. We are an 18 year old “start-up” that got our first venture capital funding just two years ago. Now, we are on a mission to change the world.
As a member or our Engineering Team, you will help us develop and manufacture:
- light weight, high efficiency refrigeration systems
- state of the art, high-performance power electronics
- innovative power generation technologies
- light weight permanent magnet motors and generators
- energy storage systems
- new thermal and acoustic insulation solutions
- and much, much more.
Currently we are looking for a Power Electronics Engineer.
In this position, you’ll have the responsibility for design and implementation of:
- Electrical power systems including energy storage, motors, generators, DC/DC and DC/AC converters and inverters
- Test and validation systems.
What you’ll need to succeed in this position:
- MS or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer or related field.
- Experience in simulation technology like MATLAB/SIMULINK.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a development team from concept to production.
- The ability to provide technical liaison between engineering, marketing and manufacturing.
- Experience with system engineering including translation of customer requirements into product requirements, system engineering process during design, design for reliability, manufacturability, serviceability …
- The ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical developments.
