Glacier Bay, Inc., a company that is about as “out-of-the-box” as any can be is looking for new talent for our growing team. We invented the world’s first R-134a refrigeration system, developed the cooling system for the IBM super computers, designed and built some of the largest permanent magnet motors in the world and lots lots more. We are an 18 year old “start-up” that got our first venture capital funding just two years ago. Now, we are on a mission to change the world.
As a member or our Engineering Team, you will help us develop and manufacture:
- light weight, high efficiency refrigeration systems
- state of the art, high-performance power electronics
- innovative power generation technologies
- light weight permanent magnet motors and generators
- energy storage systems
- new thermal and acoustic insulation solutions
- and much, much more.
Currently we are looking for an Embedded Controls Engineer.
In this position, you’ll have the responsibility for design and implementation of:
- Control systems for power generation and conversion products.
- Communication systems (CANBus).
- Real-time Microcontroller/DSP hardware and software.
- Analog electronics for power conversion and signal processing.
What you’ll need to succeed in this position:
- Knowledge of C/C++ programming
- Ability to utilize software modules from disparate sources to accomplish unique functions.
- Experience with communications techniques including CANBus.
- Knowledge of digital signal processing methods, DSP/Microcontroller hardware and programming of microcontroller peripherals (A/D converters, PWM/timer hardware).
- Creativity and innovation skills required to solve new problems and to uncover new problems to solve.
- Understanding of a wide range of applicable engineering principles and practices and the ability apply them to engineering problems.
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
