Program Manager – Advanced Diesel Generator Team

Our solutions focus on integrated systems and the development remarkable products that are smaller and significantly more efficient compared to collections of commercially-available, off-the-shelf components provided by competitors.
We have a strong history developing diesel generators with world-class efficiency and power density for its hybrid-electric marine propulsion systems (www.ossapowerlite.com). We are currently developing the next generation of advance land-based generators and are seeking a Program Manager for our team. Candidates must have extensive program management experience to successfully.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead, coordinate, and facilitate the planning and execution of our customer-funded new products using New Product Introduction (NPI) methodologies
- Develop aggressive, but realistic schedules with engineering managers, development partners and customers
- Drive on-time delivery milestones, communicate project status, identify risks as well as recommend contingency plans, when appropriate
- Manage the dynamics of product development, both at a subsystem and system integration level.
- Manage and track program budgets, reporting status to executives, engineering managers and customers
- Impart constructive influence to engineering teams through careful task analysis, risk and resource assessments, and negotiation with the appropriate managers
- Ensure that projects have necessary staff to successfully achieve all program goals and deliverables
- Maintain a consistent tactical oversight on business effectiveness and initiate process improvements, as needed
- Specifically focus on the effectiveness of engineering disciplines and development of deliverables, including specifications, design analysis, documentation, prototype design verification testing, design for manufacturability/test/cost, design release to manufacturing and technology transfer
- Utilize Intuitive 8.1 ERP System
Additional Responsibilities:
- Coordinate program activities by preparing meeting agendas, coordinating meetings, writing meeting minutes, tracking action items, preparing presentations, conducting reviews and issue escalation
- Successfully identify and pro-actively manage issues and opportunities that arise during the course of initiatives and programs execution
Preferred Experience:
- Previous Program Management experience with the Department of Defense contracts
- Previous experience leading engineering hardware product developments
- Familiarity with a broad range of technologies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including listening, giving and receiving feedback, counseling and coaching, negotiation and conflict management
- Experience facilitating a collaborative, problem-solving approach with cross functional teams
- Proven track record of on-time/on-budget delivery
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent analytical skills to successfully understand strategic issues, goals, and objectives in a broad enterprise context
- Identify and mitigate risk at the program and enterprise level.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 10 years of engineering experience
- 5 plus years of program management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project leadership, planning, tracking skills
- Knowledge of program management tools, including MS Project
- Self motivated with a proven record to motivate and successfully lead others
