Business is booming and we need a world-class Supplier Quality Engineer to join our rapidly growing operation.   Candidates must be energetic, forward thinking and able to support a robust organizational growth plan. Position reports to the Quality Manager.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitor, Analyze, Improve, and Report on supplier performance to provide key performance information to the quality manager, senior management, and outside departments,
  • Responsible for the development of inspection criteria, methods for new materials, components, and sub-assemblies,
  • Provide technical consultation to supplier on sampling plans for inspection and acceptance criteria for new or existing materials and components
  • Assist suppliers in formation of statistical sampling plans, inspection methodology, and procedures,
  • Serve as technical resource for process improvements projects such as alternative measurement/testing methodologies, and supplier supplied data, and acceptance lot qualification programs,
  • Problem solving through classical & experimental design methods,
  • Review and assist Incoming Quality on material nonconformance’s and/or in-process rejections and determine appropriate corrective actions,
  • Follow-up responsibility for Supplier Corrective Actions,
  • Provide hands-on technical support for Receiving Inspection personnel as required,
  • Develop procedures for the purpose of improving IQC and supplier support processes. Initiates ECO’s as necessary,
  • Serve as part of auditing team and/or as lead auditor for Supplier Quality, as required,
  • Assist in the qualification, selection, and development of new suppliers as needed,
  • Member of new product development teams,
  • Occasional travel to suppliers as required,
  • Performs responsibilities required by the Quality System and other duties as assigned or requested,
 
Qualifications and Experience include:
  • Previous Supplier Quality Engineering experience in growth oriented business with an emphasis in electro – mechanical assemblies,
  • 7+ years experience in all phases of inspection, testing, process control and assurance
  • Technical degree or equivalent, electrical engineering preferred
  • Experience in deploying supplier quality systems in commercial businesses
  • Initiating and managing Quality improvement programs including root cause identification and corrective action for supply base activities
  • Thorough understanding of inspection techniques, statistical plans and lot acceptance sampling methodologies.
  • Knowledge or experience with electro/mechanical assemblies
  • Experience working in a manufacturing & product development environment.
  • Ideal candidate must be detail oriented, flexible, proficient in MS Applications, and have excellent communication skills.
